I dont think Ajmal or kaneria will be effective in tests so Id play the 3 out and out pacers and use afridi and malik as spinners, that way we bat down to 8 and could score good totals, its a defensive strategy but one that should guarantee us a draw.

Best line-up posted in the whole thread. You didn’t pick players in sense of who you favoured personally, but rather judging by what types of players are available. I think it’s a rather decent line-up with some little international experience on top, Hameed and Farhat have both played test cricket in England before, so that will contribute to their selection I suppose. Not much choice really possessed, you’re not going to play all the n00bs. That’ll be pretty stupid indeed.

The only way pak will win this series if their batters spend time on the wicket. The only Test caliber batsman is Umar and he is far too rash. In test batters need to play for time too to tire out the other team. I dont think pak will cross 300 allot. They might in a innings or two but that's about it. I just hope with Farhat and Hameed they play out a day at-least per innings.
This bowling line-up is good with potential to be great. There are atleast 2 bowlers that can run through teams. They just need some runs on the board to go for it.
Butt and Farhat take the shine off the ball. They might not avg 50 but its pak we have to work with what we have and currently this is the best we have in test. I always liked Hameed he was never an opener. I don't think he will light the world on fire his confidence must be shot by now. But he will be conservative. With Umar, Akmal and Afridi in the lower order that's exactly what we need.

Certainly a risk to use Azhar Ali who did seem to struggle last saterday against a 3rd class county team however tommorow is the day it matters. Plenty of pressure on Umar Akmal as quite alot of Pakistani fans are expecting big things from him this season, let's hope he can continue to impress us.

Aamer's favourite format of the game is test cricket, he was superb vs new zealand, was bowling reverse late swing which are positives signs for the future, let's hope these youngsters will show their full potential and will suceed in the test series.
